Transcripts by Grade Level

Most transcripts use the grade level format which lists courses by grade level (9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th) and school year (for example, 2015-2016).  The Subject Transcript is recommended but some colleges require a standard transcript with credits listed by grade level.

While a transcript is important, the primary criteria for college admissions for homeschool students is usually PSAT, SAT, and ACT scores. If a student is denied admission, it is almost always due to a low score on the math section of these exams. The math sections are 1/4 to 1/2 of the exam scores.  I cannot overemphasize the importance of using a good math curriculum that develops fluency in both algebra and geometry and teaches all the concepts on the ACT and redesigned PSAT and SAT. Learn More: PSAT, SAT, and ACT Prep
