Video lectures taught from a Biblical foundation

Weekly video lectures are taught on a digital blackboard. During the lecture, students take notes and work interactively. Connecting Scripture to science, Dr. Shormann inspires students to DIVE deeper into science and Scripture by teaching that science is a tool for understanding God and the purpose and pattern evident in Creation.

Video labs spark student interest

Taught using the scientific method and real lab equipment, these college-preparatory labs are designed to help students understand abstract concepts. During the lab, the students work interactively, making observations and answering questions in their lab manual. Biology, Chemistry and Physics incorporate all the labs required by the AP Chemistry program. Optional lab kits are available for hands-on experience.

Printable workbook with video solutions

A printable PDF of the DIVE Workbook includes worksheets and lab excercises. Video solutions to worksheet and lab exercises are provided in your course.

Internet Textbook for assigned reading

Weekly reading assignments can be completed using our free Internet Textbook,a chart with links to specific websites. If you prefer a traditional textbook, we recommend either Bob Jones, Apologia, or A beka. A reading syllabus for these books, as well as many others, are available on our website under Syllabi.

Quarterly exams prepare for college

Quarterly exams are given every 8 weeks, promoting study habits similar to what a student should expect in college. For an advanced course we recommend a one hour time limit. If you prefer a standard course, quarterly exams can be administered “open note.”

Extra help to ensure understanding

The Saxon Homestudy Kit includes a Solutions Manual which shows how to work each problem step by step. We recommend reviewing the correpsonding DIVE lesson first, then consult the Solutions Manual if further help is needed. If more help is needed, you can email Dr. Shormann for more detailed explainations. However, our program is so comprehensive, this is rarely necessary.
