Earth Science
Prerequisite: Prealgebra or Saxon Math 8/7 (completed or taken concurrently)
This course trains children to enjoy God's great Earth while equipping them to stand against evolutionism and Old-Earth superstitions that infect natural history displays at most museums and geologic wonders like the Grand Canyon. It covers four major areas: Earth Science Basics, Flood Geology, Limnology (Freshwater Ecosytems) and Oceanography, and Astronomy and Meteorology.
Set up on a 32 week schedule, students complete two lectures, two worksheets, 20 definitions, and one lab each week, and every 8 weeks there is a quarterly review. The video lectures and labs average 20 minutes each. While there are no required reading assignments, a list of supplemental resources is provided.
Typically recommended for 7th or 8th grade, this course can be modified for use as a high school course by administering the quarterly reviews as exams and adding quarterly reports on a related topic.
