Instructions for Precalculus Placement Test

 

The prerequisite for this course is completion of either:

 

- Shormann Algebra 2

 

- Saxon Algebra 2, 3rd Edition

 

- Any other publisher’s Algebra 1, Algebra 2, AND Geometry 

 

 

 

To ensure readiness, we recommend all students who are new to Shormann Math to take a placement test.

 

 

 

I. How to Take the Test

 

1. A parent or teacher should supervise the test. 

2. Time Limit: 1 Hour

3. No calculators and no help from a parent or teacher.

4. The student should show all work on a separate piece of paper.

 

II. Print the Test: Placement Test for Precalculus

 

III. Use the Answer Key at the end of the Placement Test to grade it.


IV. Placement Guide:

• 6 or Less Correct: Failed - take the Placement Test for Algebra 2
  
  
• 7+ Correct: Passed - ready for Shormann Precalculus with Trigonometry or take the Placement Test for Shormann Calculus 1. 

 

Saxon Algebra 2, 3rd Edition Students 

There are about 20 geometry concepts that were taught in Shormann Algebra 2 that were not taught in Saxon. To bridge this gap, we have created Geometry Prep Lessons to prepare you for Shormann Precalculus.
